UVM FOUNDATION

UVM

For nearly a decade, I have led design and marketing work for the University of Vermont Foundation, reaching more than 75,000 alumni, donors, and community members. The Foundation's mission is to advance the University of Vermont by connecting generosity with opportunity, impact, and lasting change. Below are a few projects spanning editorial design, packaging, and branding.

MERCHANDISE

Each year, the Annual Giving team runs a campaign in June and December to raise money for the Student Emergency Fund. Donors who give during the campaign receive a custom giveaway item, including hats, socks, and scarves. I designed these items for each campaign. The goal is to increase the number of annual giving donors and have successfully increased these numbers each campaign.

IMPACT MAGAZINE

Impact was a biannual publication distributed in print to about 5,000 of the University's most loyal donors and digitally to more than 40,000 alumni and annual donors. Its purpose is to inform and inspire philanthropy-related stories while giving donors and featured alumni a meaningful experience. The gallery below shows spreads from past issues.

50TH REUNION EVENT

UVM's 50th Reunion is a weekend celebrating alumni marking their 50-year milestone. For this event, I designed brochures, packaging, and giveaway items. The Purpose of this project was to make the alumni who could not make it to their reunion feel included in the programming and part of the weekend.

PROGRAM LOGOS

Below are several different logos created for UVM Alumni programs and fundraising campaigns. These logos were used in marketing materials, email outreach, and merchandise.

PLANNED GIVING MAILING

This project came with a clear challenge: engaging a largely non-digital audience, most between 70 and 75 years old. To connect with their nostalgia for their time on campus, I built the design around the class yearbooks, known as The Ariel. The campaign's goal was to encourage alumni to name UVM in their wills.

The centerpiece was the story of alumnus Louis Collins Dodd, who named UVM in his will to establish a scholarship helping students afford to attend. I used his pay-it-forward story, along with the line "What will be your legacy?", to prompt alumni to think about the impact they could leave behind, even a century later.

The campaign led to a measurable increase in planned giving commitments and in the number of alumni naming UVM in their wills. It was submitted for a CASE Award and won.
